Overnight Care Essex

Professional overnight care — waking night care and sleeping night support, arranged around what you need.

Overview

What overnight care includes

Overnight care means a carer is in your home through the night, either as waking night care (awake and actively supporting throughout) or sleeping night support (asleep in a separate room but on hand if needed). It is designed to give both the person being cared for and their family proper rest, particularly where night-time brings a higher risk of falls, confusion, or the need for regular assistance. Carers can help with repositioning, toileting, medication prompts in line with your care plan, and general reassurance through the night, stepping in as much or as little as the situation requires.

Who this is for

Who this tends to suit

  • People at higher risk of falls or who need help moving safely during the night
  • People living with dementia who experience confusion, wandering or disturbed sleep after dark
  • Those recovering from a hospital stay, surgery or illness who need extra support overnight
  • Family carers who need a proper night of rest without worrying
  • Anyone with care needs that continue after the daytime visits end

How quickly we can help

How overnight care is arranged

We start with a conversation about the nights themselves — what tends to happen, what has helped before, and what worries you most. A short assessment helps us understand whether waking or sleeping night care is the better fit, and we then match a carer who suits the household. Where the need is urgent we will always try to move quickly, but timing depends on the specific need and who is available at the time — we would rather tell you that clearly than promise a fixed timescale we cannot guarantee.

Why families choose us

Trusted care, done the right way.

  • Awareness of falls risk and safe moving and handling practice
  • Support with medication prompts and repositioning through the night
  • Can combine with daytime care or move into live-in care as needs change
  • A small local team who get to know your household, not a rotating rota

Worth knowing

Overnight support is often arranged alongside urgent daytime help, or as a step towards full-time live-in care. You might also want to read a little about our team or talk it through with us.
