Emergency Home Care Essex

Urgent care at home, arranged quickly by our local team — support may be available at short notice, subject to assessment.

Overview

What emergency home care includes

Emergency home care is urgent, short-notice support at home when something changes suddenly — a fall, a sudden illness, or a family carer who is no longer able to help. A carer can be arranged to support with personal care, meals, mobility, medication prompts in line with your care plan, and simply being there while you work out what happens next. Where the situation and staffing allow, support may be able to start within hours; at other times it takes a little longer to arrange safely. Either way, we aim to respond quickly, listen properly, and put the right person in place as soon as we reasonably can.

Who this is for

Who this tends to suit

  • Someone who has come home from hospital sooner than expected and needs support in place quickly
  • An elderly relative whose health or mobility has suddenly declined
  • A family carer who is unwell, away, or otherwise unable to provide care as usual
  • Anyone facing an unplanned care gap who needs help arranged at short notice

How quickly we can help

How assessment and arranging care works

The first step is a phone call — tell us what has happened and what support is needed. We will ask a few questions to understand the situation, then arrange an assessment as quickly as we reasonably can, either over the phone or in person. From there we match you with a carer suited to the need and brief them on your situation before they visit. Timing depends on the complexity of the need and carer availability at that moment, so we will always be honest about what is realistically possible rather than promise something we cannot deliver.

A real person answers and talks through what is needed
Assessment arranged as quickly as the situation allows
Carers matched to the specific need, not assigned at random
Honest, clear communication throughout — no fixed promises

  • CQC registered, with training and policies that meet regulatory standards

Worth knowing

If emergency support turns into an ongoing need, families often move on to overnight care or live-in care. You can also check the areas we cover or read what other families think.
